Cricket in Lod began to be played in 1956 by immigrants from India. The Cricket Club included two groups - Lod A and Lod B. In 1988 the two groups were separated with two different clubs. Lod A group became Super Lions Lod Cricket Club. In 1995 the team won the first championship in its history and has been to this day the team winning 13 championship titles out of 18 seasons. Additionally the team won numerous trophies in different tournaments in different settings. Super Lions Lod cricket club is considered one of the strongest teams in the history of cricket in Israel, and most of the players are Israel's National Squad team players. In past SLLCC participated in two European tournaments which took place in Berlin in 1998, and the other in Northern Ireland in 1999.
Team captain in recent years is Isaac Massil/ He is considered Israel's No.1 player,and plays an Important role for The Club.
The Cricket Club recently formed a group of youth players with great talent to the game, ensuring that within a few years, the boys will take over the seniors and will continue the Dynasty Group. The Youth Academy is coached by Yefeth Nagavkar and Anim Solomon who dedicates their time to promote the youth and Cricket in Israel .
